Floyd Automatic Tooling has now launched a new range of high precision carbide circular saw blades for anything from slotting, grooving and circlip grooving to cutting operations. We have launched the completely new range of products to cater for the continually growing industry demands.
Manufactured to DIN1837 specifications, the 1101 Type Slitting Saws are produced from solid carbide for improved tool life and performance. Developed for machining low slot depths, the 1101 Series from Floyd Automatic has been geared for precision slotting with a feed per tooth from 0.005 to 0.05mm. This series has a tight tooth pitch that offers an internal H7 diameter range from 5 to 32mm with an external cutting diameter of 15, 20 , 25, 30 , 40, 50, 63, 80, 100, 125 and 160mm. Each blade diameter is available with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.5mm in 0.05 increments, 0.5 to 2mm in 0.1mm increments and 2 to 6mm in 0.5mm steps. The 15mm diameter blades have the option of 24, 40, 48 or 64 teeth on the circumference whilst the 160mm diameter has from 100 to 160 teeth. For deep machining or long slot production, Floyd Automatic has introduced the 1102 Series of circular saw blades. With internal and external dimensions identical to the 1101 series, this coarse tooth pitched range has a feed per tooth of 0.01 to 0.1mm. It has 20 teeth on the 15, 20 and 25mm diameter blades whilst saws from 30 to 160mm diameter have 30 to 80 teeth per blade options.
For intricate slotting operations, Floyd has launched the new 1103 series. The extra fine pitch solid carbide slitting saws are available in diameters as small as 8mm and reach up to 80mm. Specifically for the machining of fragile workpieces and highly recommended on sliding head turning centres and automatic machine tools, the 1103 series has 48 teeth on the 8mm saw, 100 teeth on the 20 , 25 and 32, 40 and 45mm saw and up to 128 teeth on the 80mm blades. Upon request Floyd can provide standard and alternate tooth geometries or special geometries for specific applications. Furthermore, the 1101, 1102 and 1103 series can all be supplied with a choice of coatings that includes TiN, TiCN and TiAlN for improved performance. With a choice of coatings and tooth geometries, the new range is suitable for machining steel, stainless and heat resistant steel, cast iron, aluminium and titanium as well as other materials. To date, this range has proven exceptionally popular with aerospace manufacturers and general subcontractors that have witnessed improved tool life, reduced set-up times and significantly enhanced cycle times.
For the cutting of slots and grooves with a radius form, Floyd Automatic has introduced a range specifically for this purpose. With blade diameters from 10 to 25mm in 5mm increments, the particularly small range of radius formed saw blades have a multitude radii and blade thicknesses for all types of application. The 10mm blade has width options that range from 0.2 to 4mm with 0.5 increments from 0.5mm upward, whilst the 15, 20 and 25mm blades are offered with a width up to 6mm in 0.1mm and 0.5mm increments. With regard to radius forms, the 10 and 15mm saws have 0.25 radius increments up to 2.5mm. The larger 20mm blade has radius options from 0.1mm to 1.5mm in 0.1mm increments and from 1.5 to 3mm radius with 0.25mm increments. The arbors for the radius formed circular saw blades range from a particularly small 3mm for the 10mm blade through to 8mm on the 25mm blades. For the standard circular saw blades, the arbors are supplied for right or left hand cutting with shank lengths that include 50, 60 ,70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 and 132mm and diameters from 4 to 20mm.
